South East Asia In the recent past, MVI concentrated its activities in South East Asia due to the natural disasters that devastated the region, such as the 2004 tsunami or the 2008 Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar. By mid 2010, the projects in Asia have been finalized. Africa The region is increasingly becoming the main focus of activities for MVI. At present MVI is involved in research, training and production activities in the fields of Parenting, associated to ICS and ACPF. Three Documentary films and books on Parenting have been shown during International Parenting Symposia in Tanzania en Kenya, while being distributed in more than ten African countries. Most of MVI activities have concentrated in Kenya, where there are numerous links with various universities, NGOs and media organizations. As a consequence, MVI has been recently asked by the African Mental Health Foundation (AMHF), to apply its expertise in the region. Additionally, after several seminars, workshops and consultations with representatives of NGOs and the Universities of Nairobi and Eldoret, MVI is developing plans to foster a virtual Communication Centre for Mental Health and Social Harmony in Kenya. A recent Business Plan developed by Stem Van Afrika coincides with the convenience of supporting virtual “media hubs” in Kenya and South Africa, which opens the possibility for a close cooperation of both organizations in the immediate future. Europe MVI has facilitated innovative projects, productions and plans for Public Mental Health in The Netherlands. The first intersectoral PMH project in The Netherlands, Geestelijk Gezond Maastricht, serves as an international example that includes all the local health and mental health institutions. Docu-Drama: a media intervention created in collaboration with performing arts, science, citizens and media involving university and media groups for its evaluation initially funded by CZ, the city of Maasstricht and Dutch National Science Foundation (ZON-Mw) .
